Visitors bureau buyer's guide
Where to buy GTA VI
Every legitimate way to get a copy before the state opens November 19, 2026 — official storefronts, boxed and digital pre-orders, and the marketplaces where the discounts hide.
US storefront prices. Rockstar has not published a global price list, so other regions and retailers will differ. Rockstar has announced two editions and no others — if a roundup site lists a Deluxe or Collector tier, it is not quoting Rockstar. Full breakdown on the launch info page. The boxed copy has no disc
The physical edition does not contain a disc. Rockstar's own pre-order details describe the boxed version as a download code, so a physical copy still needs the full download and the console storage to match. If you are buying physical to save drive space, it will not.
Dates that matter
- November 12, 2026 — digital pre-load begins, and the physical version reaches shelves.
- November 19, 2026 — launch day.
- November 20, 2026 — the cutoff for the pre-order bonus pack.
Every purchase made before November 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and a garage to keep it in, a set of outfits and hairstyles, and a weapon pattern.
Digital pre-orders also include one free month of GTA+, which must be claimed by March 31, 2027. It is excluded in several storefronts, so check before counting on it. The game is not yet rated. Storefronts currently show it as Rating Pending, so a final content rating is still to come.
Wondering about online play before you buy? GTA VI is officially listed as a single-player game. Everything else you need in place for launch day is on what you need to play. Verified July 26, 2026.
Official storefronts
Full price, zero risk. Digital pre-orders include one month of GTA+, though it is excluded in several storefronts and has to be claimed by March 31, 2027.
Game retailers
Authorized sellers for boxed and digital copies. Rockstar's pre-order details describe the boxed version as a download code, so "physical" here means a box on a shelf from November 12, not a disc you can install from.
Boxed and digital pre-orders. Launch-night hours and in-store pickup are up to each store — GameStop has announced nothing for this release, so check your own branch.
Boxed pre-orders. Amazon sets its own delivery estimate at checkout; the boxed version reaches shelves November 12.
Big-box boxed pre-orders. No retailer-exclusive bonus has been announced for GTA VI — the only confirmed pre-order extra is the Vintage Vice City Pack, and every pre-launch purchase gets it.
Gift cards & key marketplaces
Where the discounts hide: PSN and Xbox gift cards bought below face value, then spent on a digital pre-order. Real savings, but read the region terms first — these are marketplaces, not first-party stores.
Discounted PSN / Xbox wallet top-ups, and third-party sellers who list console codes. Stock and sellers change daily, so check before counting on it. Marketplace keys are region-locked — match your account region exactly.
Rebranded from CDKeys in 2025. Discounted gift cards and codes; same region-lock caution applies.
Gear for launch day
Not GTA VI facts, just the accessories worth sorting before launch week. An extra controller and a decent headset matter more than you think for a game you will live inside for months.
A second controller, or a spare for when the first one dies mid-heist.
Rockstar has announced no radio stations or soundtrack for GTA VI, but every game in the series has leaned on its audio. TV speakers will not do it justice.
Rockstar has not published an install size, and the boxed copy is a download code either way — so the whole game lands on your drive. Expandable NVMe storage is the cheap hedge.
Before you buy
- GTA VI launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S only. No PC version has been announced — anyone selling you a "GTA VI PC key" today is selling something that does not exist.
- US list prices are $79.99 Standard / $99.99 Ultimate, read off the PlayStation Store listing. US storefront prices. Rockstar has not published a global price list, so other regions and retailers will differ. Marketplaces discount indirectly via gift cards and codes.
- Region-locked codes are the #1 buyer mistake on marketplaces — match the code region to your PSN/Microsoft account region before paying.
- Buying from an authorized retailer costs a little more than a grey-market key, but the copy can never be revoked. On a $79.99 game we think that is worth it.
