What Rockstar has never said
Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most-searched subjects on the internet and one of the least-documented. That gap has to be filled with something, and for most of the last three years it has been filled with guesses, estimates and leaked material presented as reporting. This page does the opposite: it takes the questions everybody is asking, states plainly that Rockstar has not answered them, and shows you how to recognise an answer that was invented.

How big is the map?
What circulates
Square-mileage figures circulate constantly, usually dressed up as a multiple of the last game's map. They get repeated across enough videos and articles that they start to read like consensus.
The official record
Not once, in any trailer, post, or filing. There is no official square-mileage figure, no "X times larger than GTA V" comparison, and — as of today — Rockstar has never even released an official map image of Leonida. Every number you have seen is either a fan estimate built from trailer footage or it traces back to leaked material. We are not going to print either as fact.

A specific number. There is no official figure for one to be close to, so precision itself is the tell.
What does the state actually look like?
What circulates
Detailed maps of Leonida are easy to find — coastlines, highways, district borders, labelled neighbourhoods. The better ones are polished enough to pass for official art.
The official record
Rockstar has not released a map image of Leonida. What exists officially is six region names, the terrain Rockstar has photographed, and a short list of named buildings. There is no published layout for any of it to sit on.
How to spot an invented answer
Roads and borders. Rockstar has never drawn either in public, so a map that has them was drawn by somebody else.
Is there a PC version?
What circulates
PC dates and release windows get posted with real confidence, often attributed to Rockstar without a link to anything Rockstar published.
The official record
There is no PC version announced — and the situation is stronger than an unconfirmed rumour. Rockstar has never issued any statement about a PC release for GTA VI: not a date, not a window, not even a "no plans at this time." Take-Two's own annual filing names only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in connection with the game. Anyone quoting a GTA VI PC date is not quoting Rockstar.

A date. Rockstar has not addressed PC in connection with this game at all, so there is nothing for a date to attach to.
Will there be an online mode?
What circulates
Seasons, map expansions and a successor to the previous game's online service get described in detail, sometimes with launch windows attached.
The official record
The PlayStation Store listing answers the multiplayer question directly: it describes Grand Theft Auto VI as a single-player experience, and the storefront's own metadata lists it as a one-player, offline-playable title. That is the only official answer that exists to this question today.

Any specifics at all. Nothing has been announced, so a description of how it will work cannot have come from Rockstar.

Station line-ups and tracklists surface months before every Rockstar launch and get shared as though they came out of the build.
The official record
The only confirmed music is the pair Rockstar credited in its own trailer descriptions: “Love Is A Long Road” by Tom Petty, and “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters. Those two songs are the entire officially confirmed GTA VI music list, because Rockstar credited them in its own trailer descriptions. No radio station, DJ, tracklist, or soundtrack release has been announced. And the acts Rockstar has named in its character material — Real Dimez, DWNPLY, Only Raw Records — are fictional artists inside the story, not confirmed licensed music.

What is in Mount Kalaga and Ambrosia?
What circulates
Both get full write-ups in region guides — terrain, landmarks, atmosphere — as though they had been shown like the rest of the state.
The official record
Neither has appeared in an official screenshot. Mount Kalaga has a terrain description and two named animals to its name. Ambrosia has the name itself and nothing else: no image, no landmark, no wildlife, no story connection.

A photograph. There is no official image of either place, so any picture presented as one is from somewhere else.
How does the story work?
What circulates
Mission counts, protagonist-switching mechanics, the antagonist and even the ending get laid out in detail — usually tracing back to material Take-Two has spent years issuing takedowns over.
The official record
Rockstar has published nothing about mission structure, whether you switch between protagonists, who the antagonist is, or how the game ends. The official character material introduces people. It does not explain the plot.

Structure. Rockstar has released introductions and trailers, not a synopsis, so anything describing how the game is built is not coming from them.
What are the trophies and achievements?
What circulates
Full lists tend to appear early for big releases, and screenshots of them travel fast once they do.
The official record
No trophy or achievement list has been published for Grand Theft Auto VI. The console listings do not carry one yet.

What circulates
Dates for a third trailer get posted regularly, usually pinned to an upcoming showcase.
The official record
No third trailer has been announced. The most recent official Grand Theft Auto VI video is the cover art reveal from June 2026.

How to check any claim yourself
Every entry above stops being useful the day Rockstar answers it. These five habits do not, and they work on any game, not just this one.

Follow it back to a Rockstar page
Official means rockstargames.com, a Take-Two press release, or a filing with the SEC. An article about an announcement is not the announcement. If nothing in the chain lands on one of those three, it is not official — however many places have repeated it.

A caption is a source. A thumbnail is not
Rockstar's screenshot captions are official writing and count as evidence for what they say. A title card, a thumbnail, or text laid over someone's video is not evidence of anything.

Treat "insider" as a warning, not a credential
There is no verification behind the word. In practice it is used two ways: for guesses, and for leaked material that cannot be cited openly. Neither is something we will publish, and neither should change what you believe about the game.

Ask what the claim would look like if it were true
A real trophy list appears on a console storefront. A real map comes from Rockstar's own media library. A real release date ends up in a Take-Two filing. When a claim arrives through a channel its true version would never use, that mismatch is the answer.

"Not announced" is a finding, not a gap in the reporting
The most useful thing anyone can tell you about half these questions is that nobody outside Rockstar knows. A site that always has an answer is not better informed. It has just decided that having an answer matters more than the answer being true.
We will move every one of these onto the confirmed record the moment Rockstar answers it, and not a day before. If that means this page stays long until launch week, so be it — a page full of honest gaps is worth more than a page full of confident guesses that quietly get edited later.
