Does GTA VI have multiplayer?

Officially, GTA VI is a single-player game

The PlayStation Store listing answers the multiplayer question directly: it describes Grand Theft Auto VI as a single-player experience, and the storefront's own metadata lists it as a one-player, offline-playable title. That is the only official answer that exists to this question today.

What has not been announced

Given that GTA Online became one of the most profitable products in the industry, most people assume a successor is a certainty. It may well be. But assuming is not the same as knowing, and as of today none of the following exists as an official statement:

The GTA+ mix-up worth avoiding

One thing that trips people up: the free month of GTA+ bundled with digital pre-orders is not a GTA VI online entitlement. It redeems against GTA V, GTA Online and the GTA+ games library — the previous game's service, not this one's.

Full pre-order and edition details are on the where to buy page.

How solid is this, really?

Worth being precise about what this evidence is: the single-player wording comes from Sony's storefront copy rather than a Rockstar statement, and storefronts can be edited quietly. It is the strongest official signal available, not a Rockstar promise that an online mode will never appear. We re-check it and will update this page if it changes.

If an online mode is announced before the state opens on November 19, 2026, this page changes the same day — and we will say what changed rather than quietly editing it. Until then, anyone telling you the specifics of GTA VI's online mode is telling you what they hope for. Speculate with us in the forums instead, where it belongs.
